Orlando passing centuries!

At last the painting of immortal Orlando, I hope you'll enjoy the mystery as I do.

Orlando is an acrylic painting on canvas, the bigger one, the size of this artwork is 100x80 cm.

It deals with the theme of relativity of time and immortality - charming immortals how could one resist?

Orlando is one of my favourite book characters, s/he is an immortal from a novel by Virginia Woolf. The queen Elizabeth I. of England gave to Orlando properties on one condition - he will never grow old and lost his beauty...

The Orlando on painting walks through garden and vears lady's dress from 17th century and gentleman's wig, both together reffering to his change from a gentleman to lady during centuries. S/he is also holding two pocket watches, in the middle of each are small images, horse and lady in garden - moments in his/her life.

Sincerely, how would it be to percieve time as s/he does?

This painting is currently exposed in Prague at the exhibition called 'In between time', more.

However now is everything settled and on displey are also two new paintings: Orlando and Above sky.

So, if you have a trip to Prague, or of course, you live there, you are welcome to come.

The Beauty of Night Sky

I would love to introduce my new 'clouds and stars' work called Above sky.

Above sky is an acrylic painting on canvas belonging to the small series 'Amongst Stars', which deals with the theme of night and day.

This artwork look into the mistery and beauty of night, when on the dark blue almost black sky brightly glow stars with all their moods and secret lifes. Each of them alone, yet together in all those constellations and the mystique influence they have upon our lifes.
However, we can't forgot about love.

There is ballrome and couple - lady and gentleman star dancing with the feets on cloud and heads among stars. In the background you can see some star constellations - Lion, Great Bear, Orion. Cassiopeia, Northern Crown, etc.

Winter coming on horse and completed series 'Four Seasons'

After all there is complete series Four Seasons.

Its last painting 'Winter Comes' is 50 cm lenght and 70 cm height and it is ofcourse winter painting. I must say that maybe due to a current winter and snow everywhere around I prefered to work on things with leafs on trees and so on, but after all I must say that I really enjoyed this painting to. Blue is wonderful colours with its so many tones and shadows, but it was quite nice to paint a horse again. I love these animals, but well who don't.

So there is a little more about this freezing artwork.

Winter Comes is an acrylic painting on canvas belonging to series Four Seasons. This artwork deals with the theme of winter and shows lady in long dress symbolising frost, sitting on white horse representing the winter itself.

'Freeze, cold mist passing by when you walk throught park in early morning. Firstly not even apparent, then like a sudden scent of winter in the air and finally like a cold clear diamond being everywhere around - felt, yet never seen.'

And for those who didn't came across the rest of this small series, there are three other paintings. However firstly just like a little addition, when I was travelling from Prague I came across wonderful classical music I didn't hear for a long time. So for those who are interested there is overture to The Barber of Seville and also Le carnaval des animaux(L'aquarium).

The Dance of the Rose 60x60 cm
The Dance of the Rose is an acrylic painting in Naive Art style. This artwork is inspired by the theme of spring and captures woman with long flying dress in motion, expressing the feeling of freedom and lightness of spirit. The arch around figure represents blooming fields with tulips and levander in corners accompained by simple blossoms and leafs of wild roses.

'What it would be to dance as a Rose, elegant and impressive, live in gardens amongst all those blooming flowers and by a simple movement spread so much scent.'

Under the Sun 50x60 cm
November is an acrylic painting in Naive Art style. This artwork deals with the themes of Summer, 19th century and its fashion.

The painting shows lady with parasol on a walk in park. Just imagine the feeling of sun touching your skin and light fresh air playing with a few hair, which were happy enough to run off a clip, while you are walking on the sidewalk amongst trees with fresh green leafs and meadows with flowers, passing all those people admiring blue summer sky and sunlight shining through old trees.

November 50x60 cm
November is an acrylic painting in Naive Art style dealing with the theme of Autumn.

This painting shows a lady in long dress, with hat and gloves calmly sitting on a bench, amongst falling leafs. With a purpose to express Autumn as an lonely distant season, that give us time to contemplate an wandering around with feet in fallen foliage completely alone.

All these artworks will be exposed at the exhibition 'Beautiful Century' in Bílovec, Czech Republic from 16th February to 21st March.

Preparation for Valentine's day and the Idea of Love

Hello everyone, althought it's winter and here is everything cover by snow, there soon gonna be a Valentine's Day. I decided to do at last two paintings inspired by this event, which sounds to me as a very atractive theme - mainly for Naive Art.

But  now...

The idea of love is for me somehow fascinating. I don't mean any kind of love, when people actually don't love the other person, but only hoping to find in their lover what they miss themselves, or even yearning for someone else to make them happy. I don't even talk about likeliness or favour. And be honest I see a lot of people whom married from this simple reason, as they could live this life again.

But we are artists, and I guess it would be highly hypocritical especially by us (at least by people like me) to do not experience or see our lives in the real way. Not in a sense what is considered to be real and possible, but behind it - to feel life by sences which can catch the scent of what is realy possible and be able to percieve it fully - really.
So, I prefer to talk about love in a way of real love which is considered to be impossible these days or just a simple imaginary illusion about which most can't even think as real.

In my way of thinking - love can be experienced in many ways. In a simple moments of everyday life - as a morning sun beams gently touching tiles of your bedroom, or simple movement of dress. Sudden capture of gentleman's cologne, sound of music stronger than words or the way of how someone's cat examines you. Moments of impression, when someone captures the reason for life in life itself. But this is not about what Valentine's Day is.

I think about (romance) love as about something divine, what is not to be spoken, as it is something one can know and feel, yet can't or better lose all of their will to speak about. One doesn't have to talk about true, as same as one knows yet can't describe what is actually life. Try it.

Fascinating, as I said. The idea of love is something what has all my respect, so I will let it stay open or I'll let you to tell me, if you wish, and if it realy isn't better to pass it in silence.

And about paintings above.

Valentine is an acrylic painting on canvas with size 100x100 cm, which makes it my biggest painting at the time.
The artwork is in Naive Art style and shows lady in red dress and gentleman in tail coat. They are siting on trunk in a shadow of leafs and holding each hands. In lover right you can see a strip of roses.

'In the Park' is an acrylic painting on canvas, 100x100 cm, deals as well with the theme of love and romance.

The painting shows couple riding on horses. Animals are gently and silently trotting through the park, without bridles or stirrups reffering to the freedom of movement and liberty itself, but also to the silent state of minds, of two soul mates, when there is no need to talk.

'Soirée' small golden mural!

'Soirée' is one of those works which I planned to do for some time. It is a small mural with size 68 x 68 cm.

The painting shows lady in red and golden colours with hat, long gloves and dress in motion, which comply what exactly I wanted to do. I think that the title 'Soirée' suits it best - for open position of hands, relaxed yet elegant expression of the face, but mainly for rebellious and quite modern hat, while the rest of the dress, especialy the top part keeps elements of the 19th century evening dress.

This mural is a little complement to the elegant room with black and dark brown furniture and usually red and dark blue linen. That could sound a little gloomy, but the room is lighten by white walls and light beige floor and vintage accessories gives this place pleasant touch of originality.

New mural: Let's go for a walk in 19th century

Yesterday I've finished a new mural called 'Lady in Blue' and after all the painting shows elegant lady in long dark blue dress, hat and umbrella. It's acrylic painting with height 240 and lenght 120 cm.

The dark blue colour was choosed to creat calming, yet elegant atmosphere in a dressing room of a private apartment, where are usually used blue and ochre accessories.

I must admit that work on such a projects - elegant ladies in dresses from my favourite period as is, of course, 19th century in such a size is simply great opportunity.
